Some Highlights from the First Annual Scientific Meeting of the Lebanese Order of Dietitians (LOD), held on September 6, 2025 at Le Royal  Hotel

Centered around the theme “From Undernutrition to Obesity and Diabetes Management: A Comprehensive Approach in Dietetic Practice”, and followed by a workshop about “Enhancing Dietetic Practice with Nutrition focused physical Exam (NFPE): A Skills-Based Training for dietitians”; this milestone event brought together clinical dietitians, dietetic students, healthcare professionals, and experts to exchange knowledge, foster collaboration, and advance evidence-based dietetic practice in 🇱🇧 Lebanon

Dr. Nahla Hwalla, President of the Lebanese Order of Dietitians, was represented by Ms.Hind Dakhil Abboud, Chair of the Social, Public and International Relations and Media Committee, at the opening ceremony of the 3rd Expatriate Medicine Conference, chaired by Professor Youssef Bakhash

The conference, titled “TOGETHER 2025: Preventive Medicine and Therapy”, was held under the patronage of the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nasreddine, at Beit Al Tabib – Beirut, on Friday, August 29, 2025

A highlight of the event was the launch of www.ipokrate.com/register, a dynamic new platform designed to connect Lebanese physicians in Lebanon 🇱🇧 and across the diaspora , fostering collaboration, expertise exchange, and unified action in preventive medicine

عقد مجلس نقابة اختصاصيي التغذية و تنظيم الوجبات في لبنان اجتماعًا مثمرًا مع الدكتورة هنادي بري، المديرة العامة للتعليم المهني والتقني في لبنان- وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي، بهدف متابعة الخطوات التي تتخذها المديرية للحد من الرسائل المضللة التي تروّج لها بعض مؤسسات التعليم المهني لبرامجها، والتي تؤدي إلى ممارسة مهنة التغذية من قبل غير المؤهلين.
تعد هذه الخطوة محورية في حماية المهنة، وصون صحة المجتمع، وضمان أن تبقى الممارسات الغذائية ضمن الأطر القانونية والعلمية المعتمدة.
نثمن تعاون الوزارة وجهودها في ضبط هذا الملف، ونتطلع إلى المزيد من التنسيق لضمان جودة التعليم والممارسة في قطاع التغذية.

Highlights from the Lebanese Order of Dietitians (LOD) Inaugural Gala Dinner, held on Friday, June 27th at Eau de Vie, Phoenicia   Intercontinental Hotel – Beirut

The evening brought together around 110 healthcare professionals — primarily dietitians — alongside representatives from the Ministry of Public Health and cherished supporters

A heartfelt tribute to our President, mentor, role model, and the remarkable woman of vision — Dr. Nahla Hwalla — whose pioneering leadership has laid the foundation for a stronger, more recognized profession, at a time when nutrition is rightfully at the heart of health

On Tuesday, May 20th, the Executive Board of the Lebanese Order of Dietitians, led by LOD President Dr. Nahla Hwalla, visited H.E. Dr. Rima Karame, Minister of Education and Higher Education, to discuss strategic initiatives aimed at elevating the academic and professional standards of the dietetic profession in Lebanon

شاركت الدكتورة نهلة حولا، رئيسة نقابة اختصاصيي التغذية وتنظيم الوجبات في لبنان، في ورشة العمل التي نظّمتها كلية إدارة الأعمال ESA بعنوان “بناء الموارد البشرية والقدرات عبر القطاعات الصحية اللبنانية”.

وقد أُقيم الحدث نهار السبت ١٠ أيار ٢.٢٥، برعاية معالي وزير الصحة العامة الدكتور ركان نصر الدين، ونظمته جمعية رؤساء النقابات الصحية بالتعاون مع كلية إدارة الأعمال

This important gathering allowed us to review past achievements, discuss challenges, approve budgets, and set a clear vision for the future
