The Official Launch of the National Sustainable Dietary Guidelines in Lebanon

Lebanon has marked a historic milestone at the Ministry of Public Health with the official launch of its Sustainable Food-Based Dietary Guidelines (SFBDGs) — the first of their kind in the MENA region.
:These guidelines aim to foster a sustainable diet that integrates
Public health and wellbeing •
Economic resilience •
Environmental sustainability •
Cultural acceptability •
This national initiative was supported by the Ministry of Public Health, the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
.It was developed with the scientific leadership of the Lebanese Order of Dietitians and grounded in research conducted at the American University of Beirut (AUB)

national food systems toward a healthier and more sustainable future

 

الإطلاق الرسمي للإرشادات الغذائية الوطنية المستدامة في لبنان

شهد لبنان في وزارة الصحة العامة محطة تاريخية مع الإطلاق الرسمي لـ الإرشادات الغذائية الوطنية المستدامة (SFBDGs)، وهي الأولى من نوعها في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا.
تهدف هذه الإرشادات إلى تعزيز نظام غذائي مستدام يدمج بين:
– الصحة العامة والرفاه
– الصمود الاقتصادي
– الاستدامة البيئية
– القبول الثقافي

وقد تم إعداد هذه الإرشادات بدعم من وزارة الصحة العامة، منظمة الصحة العالمية (WHO)، برنامج الأغذية العالمي(WFP)، ومنظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة (FAO)، وبقيادة علمية من نقابة اختصاصيي التغذية في لبنان، استنادًا إلى أبحاث علمية أجريت في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت (AUB).

تخلل البرنامج كلمات ومداخلات من:
– السيدة وفاء حوماني، رئيسة دائرة التغذية في وزارة الصحة العامة
– الدكتورة Nahla Hwalla نقيبة اختصاصيي التغذية في لبنان
– الدكتورة Alissar Rady منظمة الصحة العالمية (WHO)

تتماشى هذه الإرشادات مع أفضل الممارسات العالمية ومع أهداف التنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة، لتشكل خارطة طريق للسياسات الغذائية، المؤسسات، والمستهلكين نحو أنظمة غذائية أكثر صحة واستدامة للأجيال القادمة.

This important mandatory meeting, as required by law, offered a valuable opportunity to review past achievements, address current challenges, approve budgets, and set a clear vision for the future

منتحلو الصفة في القطاع الصحي

شاركت نقيبة اختصاصيي التغذية وتنظيم الوجبات في لبنان، الدكتورة نهلا حولا، إلى جانب أعضاء مجلس النقابة الدكتورة اليسار ياسين حداد، السيدة هند دخيل عبود، والسيدة بارعة كشلي، في ورشة عمل بعنوان:

“منتحلو الصفة في القطاع الصحي”

وذلك بدعوة من تجمّع نقباء المهن الصحية في لبنان، وبرعاية وزير الصحة العامة الدكتور ركان ناصر الدين،

يوم السبت في ١ تشرين الثاني ٢.٢٥
في ESA Business School – بيروت.

تهدف الورشة إلى تسليط الضوء على ظاهرة انتحال الصفة في القطاع الصحي، وضرورة تضافر الجهود بين النقابات والجهات الرسمية لحماية المهنة وصون صحة المواطن.

Dr. Nahla Hwalla, President of the Lebanese Order of Dietitians, participated as a Speaker at the CIHEAM Lebanese Alumni International Seminar, held in Beirut on  September 24, 2025

Jointly organized by the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture and CIHEAM (International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies), this international seminar gathered alumni, experts, and stakeholders from across the Mediterranean under the theme: “Investing in Youth for Sustainable Agrifood Systems: Linking Education to Job Opportunities and Sector Priorities”

Dr. Hwalla contributed to Panel 2: Harnessing Innovation and AI to Drive Youth Entrepreneurship in Agrifood Sectors, highlighting the role of research, innovation, and youth leadership in advancing sustainable and resilient agrifood systems

عقد مجلس نقابة اختصاصيي التغذية و تنظيم الوجبات في لبنان اجتماعًا مثمرًا مع الدكتورة هنادي بري، المديرة العامة للتعليم المهني والتقني في لبنان- وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي، بهدف متابعة الخطوات التي تتخذها المديرية للحد من الرسائل المضللة التي تروّج لها بعض مؤسسات التعليم المهني لبرامجها، والتي تؤدي إلى ممارسة مهنة التغذية من قبل غير المؤهلين.
تعد هذه الخطوة محورية في حماية المهنة، وصون صحة المجتمع، وضمان أن تبقى الممارسات الغذائية ضمن الأطر القانونية والعلمية المعتمدة.
